Welcome to the home page of the Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM).

MEPCOM is the branch of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) that is responsible for maritime oil pollution prevention, mitigation and control through the conduct of marine pollution monitoring and control, oil spill response operation, and enforcement of all applicable marine environmental laws and regulations.

Like any other organization, MEPCOM is very proud to have its own homepage; By putting MEPCOM online, we hope to effectively expand the reach of our information dissemination and environmental awareness campaign not only with the PCG personnel but to other individual as well. It is an extension of our aspiration, the accomplishment of our mission and that is to prevent and control/ mitigate pollution at sea, rivers and tributaries in order to preserve a healthful and well balanced marine environment and resources of the country.

Here, the public will be informed of our roles as guardians of the sea, the existing laws on marine environmental protection, and the activities that we do to ensure that clean marine waters will be available for the next generations to enjoy. We document these activities for you, so we can share our experiences in the field, our joy and commitment to serve the Filipino people.

By its very nature, this website is a work-in-progress.  We welcome feedbacks and suggestions from the community on how we can further improve its content.
